The Boilerhouse team has organised a wide range of business to business and consumer events for a wide range of clients, including workshops, conferences, exhibitions, trade missions, and awards schemes. We have created whole events for clients (Design Council Awards, Direct Design Show, NHS Pensions roadshows, British Council International Seminars) and organised clients' involvement in third party events and exhibitions. We can handle event design and branding, programme planning, speaker engagement and delivery, staging and production, delegate management, and conference capture (video, podcast, social reporting) and dissemination in print or online.
Case study: Society of IT Management (Socitm)
Socitm is the association for public sector IT and web professionals. As with many professional membership organisations, events are a very important activity for Socitm. They provide networking and professional development opportunities for members, and are an important source of revenue. They also provide an excellent platform for communications and influence building. Socitm's three day annual event held every October for more than 500 delegates, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors, is particularly important in this respect, attracting top speakers from industry and government.
Boilerhouse is involved in almost every aspect of Socitm's conference including:
- _ Programme planning – approaching speakers and agreeing presentation topics and content
- _ Publicity material – concept, design, writing and production
- _ Marketing – a mixture of direct marketing, PR, media contradeals and social media activity is used
- _ Event microsite – this has become the main hub for pre event publicity, social media activity during the event, and for capturing and archiving the event content. The microsite is built on a free, open source platform and incorporates social media applications hosting key content including Twitter, Slideshare, Vimeo, and Flickr.
- _ Press office – we manage media involvement in the event
